Rogue Valley, Oregon
Our Albariño comes from Oregon’s Rogue Valley in the southern part of the state. It is a beautiful region – it looks a lot like the breathtaking rolling hills of its neighbor northern California (sorry Oregon, but it paints a picture). We visited in the summer of 2021, looking for the right place to buy our own winery one day. It is drier and warmer than you would think, and varietals that would never make it in the cooler north do well, including Albariño, a Spanish grape traditionally grown near the Atlantic. Albariño is known for its light and refreshing character and is even said to carry a hint of the sea. When Anthony asked us if we would like to share in some Rogue Valley Albariño, we jumped at the chance. Easy to drink on its own, with seafood pasta, with fish tacos…with whatever you like.
